BIG NEWS! In the midst of all this creative stuff, it became apparent I would have to vacate Edith Street Studio, my creative home for the last 4 years. The glass artists have taken over and want to turn it into a glass access studio ie hire their kilns out and do even more glass casting than at present. There's no more room for a metal sculptor there. Even if I do have the biggest space. So, I looked around and what did I find? Newington Armory - an old munitions factory turned into a state of the art studio funded by the NSW Government at Sydney Olympic Park. They really turned weapons into art. More good times this week. I have been so busy with ESP Gallery that my own art was taking a back seat - that changed for the better this week. Wednesday night - Smelsmin had an opening at Pine Street, Chippendale for Youth Week. She submitted digital prints on canvas (one of them is my avatar, it looks better on the wall.) Some good friends showed up and Pine Street showed movies - Luke Cavalan made a brilliant stop frame movie about King Street Newtown (my stamping ground) but the silent film with live jazz acompaniment got the most applause. Thursday - Mark Trueack from Unitopia was in town so he previewed his new CD and the Yesfanz went

The opening at ESP Gallery was a blast! Lots of people, we even had sales! A whole new crowd of people showed up as well as the circuit regulars. The gallery looks amazing. What a difference a coat of white paint makes. Plus good track lighting. Everyone agreed the gallery has great ambience and they enjoy the space. The red champagne from my private stash flowed, and we ate dainty bite sized cakes. YUM! Back at ESP this morning with Smelsmin, taping posters to electricity poles and chalking the pavements to attract punters to our new gallery (oh my aching gravelly knees!)
